"FINDLAY - Mary Edith (nee Rogers) born March 28, 1915 at Lashburn, Saskatchewan to pioneer parents Sam and Hilda Rogers, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family April 11, 2002 at the PCU at Saint Mary's Hospital, New Westminster. Mary grew up in Lashburn on the family homestead and was the eldest of four children. She furthered her education becoming a registered nurse (Holy Family Hospital - Prince Albert, Sask.). She moved to BC in 1938 and married Matthew Findlay who she met in Prince Albert. Mary was predeceased by her husband Matthew (1984) and brothers Alfred and Sam. She is survived by her three children John, Judy (Leonard) and Linda (Martin); five grandchildren Jennifer (Warren), Matthew (Misaki), Andrew, Jeremy and Megan, very special life-long friend Margaret Peacock (Douglas) and many, many loving friends and relatives. She had a long and full life filled with numerous challenges, but also many joys. She will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered for her determined spirit, positive attitude, incredible wisdom and most of all her unconditional love. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2002 at 11 a.m. in Columbia-Bowell Chapel, 219 6th St., New Westminster. Flowers greatly declined, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated."

In his younger years, he enjoyed bartending thoughtout San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, and Las Vegas. He loved to play golf and enjoyed returning to the California coast whenever possible. Ernie worked in the gaming industry for over 40 years before recently retiring. He was survived by his daughter, Diana Lynn Di Marzo-Wasneuski (Michael); and his two grandchildren, Jersilyn and Arlen. He will always be loved and missed by his family and friends whose lives he touched. There will be a celebration of his life 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at Giuseppe's Bar & Grill, 6065 S. Durango Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89113."
