Askew, the marriage took place of Miss Julia Amy Atkinson, second daughter of Mr. John Atkinson, of Tasman Street, Wellington, to Mr. Charles Edgar Silver, of Reefton. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pretty dress of white silk finished with taffeta and pearl ornaments (her wreath and veil being a present from her brother in Sydney). She carried a shower bouquet of roses and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids were Miss Louisa Atkinson (sister of the bride), and Miss May Morgan, who wore gowned in white muslin trimmed with lace, with lace coatees, and hats to match relieved with pale pink. They also carried shower bouquets of pink roses and sweet peas, the gifts of the bride's mother. Mr. J. Rouse, of Reefton, attended as best man, and the groomsman was Mr. John Atkinson, brother of the bride. A reception was held after the ceremony, at St. Mark's Hall, when the customary toasts were honoured by a large number of guests. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a cheque, and to the bridesmaids were given a gold bangle and pearl earrings, the bride giving a set of silver shaving mugs to the bridegroom. A large number of valuable gifts were received, including several cheques. The honeymoon is being spent in the South Island."
