"DEATH UNDER ANAESTHETIC
An inquest is to be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow concerning the death of Mr. Richard Grylls in Nurse Lucas's Private Hospital in Upper Willis-street yesterday morning. The deceased was suffering from rupture and was admitted to the hospital in order that an immediate operation might be performed. An anaesthetic was administered, and shortly afterwards Mr. Grylls died. It is supposed that death was due to heart failure. Drs. Tolhurst, Young, and White were in attendance at the time. Deceased was at one time licensee of the Empire Hotel, Hawera, and later on he kept the hotel at Tavern, in tho Wairarapa. He has left a widow and one child."

Inglewood, May 7 - I am sorry to have to record that Mrs. Grylls died at 11:50 a.m. The lady was at the railway station this morning.
The sudden death of Mrs. Grylls, wife of Mr. R. Grylls, the licensee of the Railway Hotel at Inglewood, will come as a great shock to her numerous friends, as the lady always looked the embodiment of good and robust health. The deceased lady was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver, of Omata, and was esteemed by a wide circle of friends for her amiable qualities."

A quiet but pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Andrews' Presbyterian Church. Kumara on Wednesday, Dec 2nd, by the Rev. J. Newlands, the contracting parties being Mr. Ivor Steele, son of Mrs. Hugh Steele, of Greymouth, and Grace Leslie second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Martyn, of Teremakau Settlement. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a gown of Irish poplin, with silk insertion and pearl trimmings. She wore the orthodox wreath, and veil, and carried a pretty bouquet. Miss M. Martyn sister of the bride, attended as brides maid. She was gowned in embroidered voile, embellished with floral trimmings. She wore a white hat trimmed with cornflowers. Mr W. Steele brother of the bridegroom, performed the duties of best man. On the party leaving the Church the Wedding March was played by Mrs. Aitken. They then motored to the homestead of Mr. J. Martyn, Teremakau Settlement, where a sumptuous breakfast awaited them. Here the usual toasts were honoured and many congratulations received."
