The marriage was solemnised recently at the Basilica of Kathleen, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Charlton, of Highland Park, Wellington, to Arthur Tom, eldest son of the late Mr. A. Slocombe and Mrs. Slocombe, of Wellington. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father J. Higgins, and Miss M. Putnam was at the organ. The bride wore a dress of parchment satin bcaute with veil and train heavily embroidered with seed pearls, and carried a bouquet of white roses and carnations. The bridesmaids, Miss Leola Huggins and Miss Alice McLaughlin, wore dresses of apple green charmeuse and hats to match. They carried shower bouquets of tawny flowers and ferns, and gold evening bags (gifts of the bridegroom). Mr. Frank Luke was best man, whilst Mr. G. A. Charlton (junr.) was groomsman. Ushers at the church were Messrs. F. and P. Charlton. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Conference Hall of the Dominion Farmers' Institute, the guests being received by Mrs. G. A. Charlton and Mrs. C. A. Lawn (sister of the bridegroom), the former wearing a green and gold mariette dress with coat to tone, trimmed with grey fox furs, and the latter orchid taffetas and furs. A dance followed, and during the evening two contralto solos were admirably rendered by Miss N. Robson. Later Mr. and Mrs. A. T Slocombe left by car for Auckland. Among the guests were Sir John Luke, Mr. and Mrs. H. Vickerman, Mr. and Miss E. P. Holgate, Mr. and Mrs. P. S. Huggins, Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Lancaster, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Wylie, Mr. and Mrs. E.
